casino IT

CAAD lab of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning

The casino IT is the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning's central CAAD lab. Its infrastructure plays an important role in the Faculty's teaching activities. In addition to the student computer workstations, it has two training rooms, a lab area, a plotting service and a 3D printing service. With over 150 workplaces and a wide range of additional services, the casino IT occupies a vital position at the Faculty. It is the teaching platform of the Faculty's computer specialists and a forum for the exchange of information among students.

The casino IT offers courses on digital tools specific to architecture and also pursues research of its own. We attach great importance to providing cross-platform hardware and software to integrate digital media into our architecture teaching and are committed to establishing a teaching and research platform focusing on IT in architecture.

The concept of students teaching students facilitates an exchange of information among students themselves and forms the basis of a knowledge platform. Experimental working is a vital resource for creativity in architecture. The casinoLAB enables students to work experimentally with electronics, computers and media. Special workplaces and equipment can be adapted to specific projects.

In concrete projects focusing on aesthetics in architecture we develop prototypes to be presented outside the university context.

During opening hours you can get answers to questions on applications, configurations or devices in the pool at the helpdesk. Students can borrow equipment such as digital video cameras for research projects, etc.

Further information and access to our web-based services can found on the casino IT website.
