Applying for acceptance as a doctoral researcher

The application comprises the following documents:

  1. Description of the planned research project comprising:
  • Precise description of topic
  • Problem, theories or hypotheses
  • Outline of the topic of research
  • Description of the planned research methodology
  • List of the material to be studied
  • Sources to be used (literature, archive material, plans, etc.)
  • Schedule (incl. financing plan, if applicable)
  • Outline of expected outcome or results
  1. Two-page summary of the doctoral research project
  2. Other documents:
  • Agreement on doctoral studies (www.uni-stuttgart.de/pruefungsamt/promotion/index.html), completed by applicant and supervisor
  • certified copy of your degree certificate (degree/diploma/masters)
  • Resumé
  • Application for a position as doctoral researcher, completed and signed
  • If available: copy of employment contract with University of Stuttgart
